Chapter XII. Jane Rightmire and David Harrod

(2) Jane Rightmire was born June 12, 1812 in Knox Co., Ohio. She married David Harrod in 1834 in Harrison Twp, Knox Co., Ohio. David was born on December 3, 1812 in Harrison Twp, Knox Co., Ohio. David and Jane Harrod lived in Allen County, Ohio. There is a small town called Harrod, in Allen County, about 7 miles east of Lima, Ohio. David Harrod died May 23, 1855 "Out West", as a result of Cholera. Jane died June 2, 1875 and is buried in Blackcreek Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. Jane and David had ten children:

(3) Mary Harrod was born July 28, 1836 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. On April 18, 1858, she married Christian H. Beinz. Christian came to America from Garlinga, Wurtemberg, Germany. Mary died on January 15, 1915, and is buried Plank Cemetery, Mercer Co., Ohio.

(3) Mahala Harrod was born in 1837 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. She married George Schroyer on August 31, 1851, also in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. James Rightmire had a daughter named Mahala, a younger sister of Jane. Jane has named her daughter after her sister.

(3) Cynthia Harrod was born 1838 Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. She married Jerry Allen.

(3) Nancy Harrod was born 1841 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. She married Thompson Stetler (date and place not known). She died on July 8, 1897.

(3) Amy Hena Harrod was born in 1843 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio.

(3) James Harrod was born in 1845 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. We know he died in Louisville, Kentucky, but we don't know when.

(3) Elizabeth Harrod was born in 1847 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. She married Adam Cully.

(3) Abraham Harrod was born in July 1850 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio.

(3) Catherine Harrod was born February 18, 1852 in Washington Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. She married Silas J. Robison on September 21, 1873. Catherine Harrod died September 3, 1893 and Silas died several years later in 1918. Both are buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Blackcreek Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. Catharine and Silas Robison had five children: Heber Robison, born about 1874, Lucy Robison, born about 1876, Annie Robison, born about1878, Florence Robison, born about 1880, Leah Robison, born about 1882.

(3) We know there was another daughter born to Jane and David Harron in 1854, but
have no information other than that.
