The 'Rightmire Report'

(4) Jerry Carl Rightmire was born November 02, 1894 in Kansas City, Kansas. He married Ann Mable Rigdon September 20,1928 in Green Cove Spring, Florida. Their story is told is Section 9. Ann was the daughter of Robert Rigdon and Selia Thomas. She was born January 27,1908 in Peniel, Putnam, Florida.

Jerry died of a heart attack February 28, 1950 in Palatka, Florida but his wife lived until 1989. She died July 05,1989 in Palatka, Florida. Jerry's funeral notice as it was in the local newspaper, in Palataka, Florida:

"JERRY RIGHTMIRE PASSES AT PENIEL OF HEART ATTACK"

"PALATAKA, March 1---Jerry Carl Rightmire, 54, died at his home in PENIEL last night as the result of a heart attack."

"Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 P.M. at the Peniel Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Underwood officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Peniel Cemetery with Pineland Lodge F. and A. M. conducting grave side services. Military honors will be conferred by VFW Post 3349."

"Rightmire was born in Kansas City, Kan., and moved to Peniel 27 years ago. He was school bus driver and for many years had been in charge of the city swimming pool. He was a member of Pineland Lodge F. and A. M., the Baptist Church and a World War I veteran."

"Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie Rigdon Rightmire; two sons, John and Jerry C. Rightmire Jr. of Peniel; and three sisters, Mrs. Cliffie Ostertag, Mrs. Monte Hermanson and Mrs. Nellie Smith, Kansas City , Kan."

Jerry and Ann had two children:

(5) John Edward Rightmire, born April 16, 1929, in St. Augustine, Florida. He married Carol Juanita Duck April 7, 1950 in Florida. Carol is the daughter of George Duck and Grace Hart. Carol was born December 23, 1924 in Columbus, Georgia, and died November 27, 1998 in Palatka, Florida. She is buried in Peniel Cemetery , Palataka, Florida. She was a bank teller. Children of John and Carol are:

(6) Dana Lynette Rightmire, born January 30, 1952, in Palatka, Florida. She married James Nathan Robbins June 03, 1978 in First Assembly of God, Palataka, Florida. He was born October 14, 1953 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Children of Dana and James are: Robin Lynette Robbins, born January 25, 1982 in Palatka, Florida and James Nathan Robbins, born October 21, 1986 in Palatka, Florida.

(6) Carol A. Rightmire, born July 7, 1956, in Palatka, Florida. She married Michael W. Ramsey July 31, 1982 in First Assembly of God, Palataka, Florida. He was born April 17, 1954 in Jacksonville, Florida. Children of Carol and Michael are Shelley Ann Ramsey, born May 31,1985 in Palatka, Florida and Carrie Grace Ramsey, born February 6, 1987 in Palatka, Florida.

(5) Jerry Carl Rightmire, born May 03,1930, in St. Augustine, Florida. He married Emily Louise Sherwood June 17, 1955 in Palatka, Florida. She was born May 06, 1937 in Palatka, Florida. Children of Jerry and Emily are Connie Annette Rightmire, born September 01, 1956, in Palatka, Florida and Linda Susan Rightmire, born June 01, 1958, in Palatka, Florida. Connie married Lanny Dwyre, February 27, 1976, in Palatka, Florida.
