(4) James Rightmire was born on April 16, 1863 in Knox County, Ohio. He was the third child of
Lewis Critchfield Rightmire and Martha E. Welker. He married Nannie (Nancy) Dailey on January 17, 1900 in Westmoreland, Kansas.
Nancy was born September 1877 in Westmoreland, Kansas, and died about 1957.
James was a farmer most of his life. He died on January 12, 1928 in Wamego Township, Patawatomie County, Kansas.

"James Rightmire was born in Knox county, Ohio, Apri1 16, 1863, and departed this life in St. Luke's Hospital.
Kansas City, January 12, 1928, at the age of sixty-four years, eight months, and twenty-six days. In 1876, when he was about
thirteen years of age, the family came to Kansas and located on a farm near Wamego where they resided some five years. In
1881 he went to California where some eighteen years were spent after which he returned to Wamego, Kansas, where he has resided
till some five years ago when the home was made in Manhattan which was his residence at the time of his death."
"Mr. Rightmire was married to Miss Nannie Dailey of Westmoreland January 17,1900. To this union two sons were
born: Paul J. of C1aflin, Kans., and Burrell R. at home."
"He began to fail in health five years ago and although every medical aid was employed, there was a constant
decline and he was compelled to spend most of the time during the last four months in the hospital. Though much of the time
he suffered intense pain, yet he was always patient and wanted to get well but the wearied body could not longer endure and
death came as a sweet release."
"Mr. Rightmire was a farmer. He was also a member of the Woodman lodge. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Emma Townsend
and one brother, Milton Rightmire, both of Laciede, Kans., also one step brother, Edgar Drake, of Wamego, one grandson, Paul
R. Rightmire, nieces, nephews and other relatives besides his bereaved wife and two sons. These have the sincere sympathy
of many friends."
"The funeral was held from the First M. E. Church, Wamego, Saturday, Jan. 14, and the body laid to rest in the
Wamego cemetery. The M. W. A. had charge at the grave."
